I sometimes see open discussions about NMT (No Moisturizing Treatment) mentioning that it gets worse before healing on NMT.

unhappy_woman5To be precise, it is incorrect, meaning, completely dried skin looks uglier so non-medial professions like us (sometimes dermatologists who have never seen non-steroidal treatment's result going all the way through also...) tend to misunderstand that we got aggravated to see bad appearance of completely dried skin.  However, it is the process of healing.

Completely dried skin looks ugly and you feel intense itch too at the dried phase definitely.  So most of suffeers who haven't learned NMT very well panic  because they think they have worsened.

However, please remember this.  Skin must be completely dried before healing as you have ever experienced, I mean, when you were healed from injuries, it was cured after the scabs were formed and dried completely.

You'll have to repeat 'scratch and dry' over and over in the drying stage usually.  It is tough phase mentally too but your skin is getting stronger gradually going through this process.

This process is what I really want to let you know for sufferers who try NMT.  As long as you don't have infections or other sickness, just keep air-drying.

Hang in there.
Healing happens to you too.
